Competition to appoint Members to the Board of National Museums NI
Date published:
The Department for Communities has launched a competition to appoint six Members to the Board of National Museums NI.
National Museums NI is an arms-length body of the Department for Communities and plays a significant role within society by increasing awareness of art, history, science and culture. Through visitor programmes and exhibitions, museums capture the public’s imagination and help us to make sense of the past and thereby better shape our future. In addition, the four museums which make up National Museums NI serve as major tourist attractions and drivers for the local economy.
The Board ensures that the work of the organisation is fully advanced in line with its key policies and strategies, whilst accounting for good governance and effective use of resources in the organisation. The Members have a role, in a challenging operating environment, to champion and advance the work of the Board and National Museums NI, whilst embedding positive values and behaviours.
The Department recognises the importance of a diverse Board and is seeking applicants with wide-ranging skills which will enrich the existing membership.
The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Wednesday 29 March 2023.
Further information, including an application pack, can be obtained at Dept for Communities or by e-mailing Public Appointments or telephoning 028 9081 9417.
