Circular LG 13/2023 - Filling positions of responsibility on a Council

Prior to the Local Government elections in May 2023, the Department is issuing an updated Circular to the Clerk & Chief Executive of each District Council to specify the positions of responsibility which must be allocated across the political parties and independents represented on a council in accordance with the provisions of Section 6 of the Local Government Act (Northern Ireland) 2014.This Circular is an update version of the previous Circular (LG 02/19) issued on February 2019.
