Consultation description
The Department has published the St Patrick’s Barracks draft Development Plan and is seeking views from interested parties on these proposals.
The draft Development Plan proposes a mixed use development scheme for St Patrick’s Barracks which incorporates a range of uses including mixed tenure housing, leisure and recreational areas, civic and office space, PSNI District Command base and facilities for community enterprise and knowledge industries. The proposed scheme seeks to deliver a high quality, people orientated place, breathing new life into this area of Ballymena and generating wider economic, social and cultural benefits across the Mid and East Antrim area.
During the consultation period the development proposals will be on display at the Braid, Ballymena Town Hall, Museum and Arts Centre and in the following community centres:
Ballee - 30th November to 8th December,
Ballykeel – 8th December to 22nd December,
Harryville – 22nd December to 5th January,
Dunclug – 5th January to 19th January,
Tullygarley – 19th January to 2nd February and
Galgorm – 2nd February to 16th February.
A public drop in event at the Braid, Ballymena Town Hall, Museum & Arts Centre will take place on 7th December 2016 between 4 30pm and 7 30pm. There will be an opportunity at this event to ask questions, complete questionnaires and provide feedback. Any comments made during the consultation period will be considered by the Department when finalising its plans for the area.
