Reducing fraud and error is one of the Department's five key priorities.   

 

This Fraud Response Plan which applies only to external fraud explains the definition of external fraud; the Department's benefit counter-fraud strategy and outlines activities required to protect public funds from those intent on abusing the benefit system; who does what and when; and the role of operational staff in the process in the fight against benefit fraud.
